Have you ever shopped at Hudson’s Bay at Richmond Centre? In the midst of lots of renovations to update their look to align it with Hudson’s Bay progressive aspirational and fashionable image, Hudson’s Bay’s Richmond location has been launching new brands and exclusive beauty counters.
Did you know they are the only Hudson’s Bay in Vancouver with an exclusive Burberry cosmetics and fragrance counter? They also carry Marc Jacobs fragrances, with the the latest being the adorably designed “Daisy Dream”. Find the brand’s sister line of Marc by Marc Jacobs accessories and handbags on the same floor, like the perforated baby blue leather wallet with a cute ribbon detail in our feature image.
We also spotted the beautifully designed Chloe Love Story fragrance – a full 10/10 on its elegance and femininity – the perfect fragrance that embodies the scent of a love story.

Hudson’s Bay also houses one of three SHU UEMURA beauty counters in Vancouver, and its cult favorites are its superior cleansing oils that can easily remove a full face of makeup, eyelash curler to make your eyes more open, and light and airy base mousses. It’s a new shopping destination you must visit!
Products with a cult-like following from SHU UEMURA include their famous cleansing oils, eyelash curler, BB Cream and Radiant Base.
So you’ve mastered the skill of wearing a crop top last year when the trend was everywhere last spring/summer season. When you live in a place where the climate is cooler and sporting just the crop top without a jacket would mean suicide, you need a crop top’s partner in crime – the crop jacket.
Crop jackets were favored by street style bloggers and fashionistas this past fashion week season. They came in structured shapes or in funky, color furs. The benefit of wearing a crop jacket with your crop top? You immediately look a lot taller since your waistline moves up visually by about 5 inches – giving off the perception of daddy long legs (no girl would dislike that!)
So what are some options for you to sport this look? Here are a few example from Pinterest on The Fashion Spread.
The first one is a structured, boxy crop jacket paired with high waist pants. When you pair crop tops with high waist bottoms you immediately create the perception of much, MUCH, longer legs.
A white structured crop jacket paired with high waist pants = crazy long legs.
The second example is of a crop fur jacket in emerald green. We love the color and how she paired the look with a basic black turtleneck. This creates the perception of a longer neck and longer legs – a head-to-toe leaner silhouette. We would add a statement necklace to the look for more style oomph!
We love this emerald jewel green crop fur jacket.
Socks with heels. It’s a thing – and we love it.
Another cute accessory that you can mix and match with all of your heels and add some spice to your outfit! So how DO you wear socks with heels?
Start with solid color pairings because adding patterns and print is next level because then you need to put more thought into how the prints work with your entire outfit. Solid colors are relatively easier, and we suggest color pairings like in our featured image from whowhatwear.com – with a pair of bright white wedge heels and burgundy socks. The rest of the outfit is laid-back, casual chic and the socks add color to the bottom half of the outfit, balancing out the look.
Add Some Color
Feel a little daring and want to try bright socks? We love this funky look as seen at the recent fashion week. When wearing bright red socks, make sure the rest of the outfit is just as fashion forward. This fashionista clearly did a great job pairing her red socks with pointed heels, a tartan flared skirt, print tee and navy military outer.

Pattern and Color Mix and Match
Top notch fashionistas can tackle mixing pattern and color. Polka dots or small print on darker shades are easier to mix with color heels as in the picture below – we love the retro vibe and the mustard yellow heels!

Spring is officially upon us and we’re happy to say that this season it’s full of all the pretty things…including fringe that is oh-so-sexy and makes you want to “sway baby sway” and it’s elegant partner in crime – the flowing maxi dress.
As seen on the Emilio Pucci runway for its SS 2015 show, we love the more is more fringe on this dress, made even more captivating in bright white.
Kendall Jenner models this maxi dress perfectly and shows off its lightweight, almost floating design. The slightly darker florals gives the overall look a seductive touch.

We have to say we were in awe of the color pairings from the designs for the Bally FW ’15 RTW collection.
Amongst the colors were forest green, radiant orchid purple, mustard yellow, and passion fuchsia. We see more designers infusing elegant pieces with bright, show-stopping colors and it definitely encourages us to wear more color to work with these feminine pieces.
Timid about wearing too many bright colors in one outfit? Start with one colorful piece and the rest of your outfit in neutrals. For example, bright pink pants or skirt with a white t shirt and gray blazer.
We have hand picked two looks from the Alice + Olivia collection we would wear to work in a heartbeat. We love the ankle-grazing timeless black coat; whether work with a dress or dress pants, the coat instantly provides a slimming effect.
We love this sexy jumpsuit – although it isn’t revealing at all, the sheer fabric and tailoring hints at all the right curves; there’s power and sex appeal with this look.
Black white graphic paint splatter print.
Grainy print/textures head-to-toe.
What we love most about the McQ Alexander McQueen pre-fall 2015 collection is the full outfit prints.
Go big or go home – dare to wear one print head to toe for show-stopping impact. This pre-fall 2015 collection from McQ Alexander McQueen works structured tailoring and chic marble print, paint splatter and grainy textures into the looks.
The colour palette is consistent with popular shades for the fall/winter season – cobalt blue, black and white. These skirt suits will help style UP your work outfit – make room for the new fashionista at work!
